A couple years ago I received the same viral email from both my mom and my mother-in-law…you might have gotten it too. It was the “Letter to Always” from Wendi Aarons. Well, I think a lot of folks read these things, laugh, forward them to their friends and move on. Not me. No, I laughed until I cried over this tidbit and had to know if Wendi was a real person and whether she had written more. What I discovered was her very funny blog: Wendi Aarons: They’re Not All Gems. If you don’t check her out you’re really missing out on some comic relief for your day and while Wendi posts weekly rather than daily, there are plenty of archives to keep you entertained for quite a while.
I’ve written a bit about why I blog but there is a piece of why I blog that I haven’t really admitted to before now. Here it is. Wendi Aarons’ blog. She’s a mom, she’s hysterically funny and she writes really well. Yep after following her for over a year, it finally started to sink in that maybe, just maybe, blogging could be fun as well as being a good writing discipline. And you know what? It has turned out to be both of those things for me. So raise your glasses of pinot grigio to Wendi folks and give her a big thanks for being such an inspiration and for being so funny. Oh, and don’t forget to go READ! You won’t regret it!
